Commercial to Flats – Shepton Mallet
A grade 2 Listed building, formerly a solicitors office with the added bonus of a further building in the grounds. In reasonable condition it none the less had some challenges notably a robust strong room in the middle of the building where the solicitors documents had been kept!
This required a Full Planning application with change of use and Listed Consent.
There was a necessity to prove lack of demand for offices in the town through a marketing report. This extra time consideration was helped considerably by the delayed completion period negotiated, saving holding costs.
The build took approximately nine months and the building was converted into eight one & two bed apartments and a detached cottage.
